About Eanna Press
Eanna Press was founded in 2022 as the publishing imprint of the Temple of Inanna, arising from a clear and deliberate need: to provide a dedicated, independent platform for serious works rooted in the spiritual, religious, and mystical traditions of the Ancient Near East.

Our name is taken from Eanna, the sacred precinct of Inanna in ancient Uruk - the House of Heaven and Earth. In this spirit, Eanna Press stands at the threshold between scholarship and devotion, ritual and text, history and living practice.

We are an independent publishing house devoted to the preservation, exploration, and renewal of Near Eastern spirituality in its many forms. Our catalogue encompasses academic research, translations, devotional works, ritual texts, and inspired contemporary writings that engage deeply with the religious worlds of Mesopotamia and the surrounding cultures that shaped Western and global spiritual history.

Our Focus
Eanna Press publishes works concerned with, but not limited to:

-
Mesopotamian religion and mythology
-
The cults of Inanna / Ishtar and associated deities
-
Near Eastern cosmology, ritual, and temple traditions
-
Devotional and priestly practice
-
Translation and interpretation of primary texts
-
Comparative religion and ancient theology
-
Modern spiritual praxis rooted in historical traditions
We seek to bridge the divide between academic rigor and lived spirituality, honouring both careful scholarship and authentic devotional engagement.

Philosophy & Approach
We believe that sacred texts and spiritual works deserve thoughtful presentation and editorial integrity. Each title we publish is selected with care, guided by depth of insight, clarity of purpose, and respect for the traditions from which it arises.

Eanna Press favours quality over quantity. We work closely with our authors - scholars, practitioners, translators, and devotees - ensuring that each book is approached as a meaningful offering rather than a disposable product. A book is not merely a vessel for information; it is a locus of transmission.

While modest in scale, our ambition is exacting: to contribute enduring works that will remain relevant to readers, researchers, and practitioners for years to come.
Independence & Integrity
Eanna Press is fully independent and mission-driven. We are not beholden to trends, algorithms, or ideological fashions. Our sole commitment is to the integrity of the work and the traditions it represents.

We are an inclusive publishing house and welcome voices from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives, provided they approach their subject matter with seriousness, respect, and sincerity. We stand firmly opposed to racism, bigotry, and discrimination of any kind, and we reject polemics that distract from genuine spiritual inquiry.

Our concern is not with spectacle or provocation, but with depth, continuity, and reverence.
Building A Living Tradition
As the publishing arm of the Temple of Inanna, Eanna Press exists in dialogue with an active spiritual community. This grounding informs our vision: the ancient religions of the Near East are not inert relics, but living sources of meaning, capable of speaking powerfully to the present age.

Through careful publishing, we aim to honour the past, serve the present, and safeguard the future of these traditions.
